The Guardianship and Administration Tribunal deals with disputes involving Enduring Powers of Attorney and appoints guardians and administrators for those people whose arrangements are inadequate or have broken down.
A guardian is appointed to deal with the day to day affairs of an adult with impaired decision-making capacity. They make decisions about personal matters, such as medical treatment, accommodation, employment and support services.
An administrator is someone who is appointed by the Tribunal to manage the financial affairs of an adult who is unable to make these decisions.
